Martin Luther King Jr., was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 15, 1929. He birth man was Michael, but later on it was changed to Martin. He originally wanted to follow his father's shoes and become a Baptist Minister. King had an older sister named Willie Christine and a younger brother Alfred Daniel. He grew up in segragated highschools, but during his college years, was well educated at integrated schools including Boston University. King participated in many helpful organizations and was always seeking for a significant change in society.

Martin Luther King overcame many trials and tribulations that made him the man he was. King was arrested twenty times and assaulted about four times. Once he delivered the "I Have a Dream" Speech, he was labeled man of the year by time magazine and was the symbolic figure of the black community. With the help of King, the bus system was integrated. In success to King's life, he grew up with two well rouded parents and was raised within the church.
